Photographer Jason Vaughn didn’t grow up with much hunting experience. So when he moved to Wisconsin and saw deer blinds in rural for the first time, he was captivated by their beauty and wanted to learn more about them.

Vaughn would drive around the state looking for blinds to photograph. During the process of seeking permission from the owner, he’d usually learn something unique about a stand’s construction or history — many are handmade and passed down among family generations. Check out some of the other pics here.

Not that any of us are hankerin’ for work days – but the idea of blind on top of a blind is definitely intriguing.

I Hate Snakes

Anyone who knows ol’ Dead Eye knows I hate snakes. And this year I’ve seen more snakes than ever…including a coiled up rattler I almost stepped on.

I’ve now seen the snake I hate the most. A fishing snake. Not only is it a snake – but it’s killing fish I’m supposed to catch. That’s about as bad as it gets.

What Would You Do?

So you’re in the tree stand and along comes a buck that looks like a cow. You rub your eyes. Blink a couple times…but dang, it’s a deer alright.

So the question is – would you take the shot?

I say yes. So did this guy in Wisconsin. Cabella’s allegedly paid him $1,300 for the hide and cape. A guy can buy a lot of Miller with $1,300. Just sayin’.
