REASON FOR OPTIMISM:

Winter pheasant survival the last few years has been something of a crapshoot at Brambleberry Farm.

The abundance of predators, winged and four footed also have a say in how well the pheasant population survives to breed in the spring.

Here is a reason for optimism—yesterday I saw one heck of a good looking rooster making his way along the Ridge Road. Let’s hope he finds some companions of the female variety and multiplies.
